Lady Bug and Super Cat (French: Miraculous, les aventures de Ladybug et Chat Noir; also known as Miraculous Ladybug or Miraculous) is a French animated series produced by Zagtoon and Method Animation. The animated series tells about two Parisian teenagers, Marinette Dupin-Chen and Adrian Agresta, who turn into superheroes Lady Bug and Super Cat to protect the city from supervillains created by the Hawk Moth. The creator of the animated series is Thomas Astryuk.

Prior to its debut in France on October 19 , 2015 on TF1 , the series was first shown in South Korea on September 1 , 2015 on EBS1

In the USA, the premiere of the animated series took place on December 6, 2015 on the Nickelodeon channel, but later this channel refused to broadcast the animated series, so Netflix received the rights to broadcast season 1-3. In Russia, the premiere took place on December 19, 2015 on the Disney Channel. In the UK and Ireland, the show premiered on January 30, 2016, also on the Disney Channel. In addition to the above, the animated series is shown in Germany, Spain, Portugal, Italy, Turkey, Brazil, Japan and more than a hundred countries around the world (150 in total). On November 20, 2015, producer Jeremy Zag announced that the second and third seasons are in development

On December 11, 2016, the premiere of a special Christmas episode, which is a musical called “The Worst Christmas” (French: “Pire Noël”, in Russian dubbing — “Santa with claws”). On October 26, 2017, the second season was released in France. The first episode of the second season in Russia was shown on January 29, 2018 on the Russian Disney channel, the screening of a number of subsequent episodes on the channel took place from February 12 to March 5, 2018, also on March 26, another series was shown unscheduled. The premiere of the last episode of the second season of “Mayura” in Russia took place on January 21, 2019.

On November 20, 2015, producer Jeremy Zag announced that the second and third seasons are in the process. On November 24, 2018, it was announced that the third season will be released on December 1, 2018 on the Spanish Disney channel. On the same day, a teaser of the first episode titled “Chameleon” was published.

In France, the premiere took place on April 14, 2019. On January 22, 2018, Zag posted on Instagram that the team is working on seasons 4 and 5. On September 7, 2019, Jeremy Zag confirmed on his Instagram that seasons 4 and 5 are already in development, and the air date for season 4 will be in the fall of 2020. On October 13, 2019, Thomas Astruc announced that the scripts for season 4 have already been completed
